about

Stones/Water/Time/Breath is the first release by Dean Rosenthal, documenting five performances of the eponymous score, composed on Martha's Vineyard in 2012. Performances were given Newfoundland, Brooklyn, Wilbraham, and Woodstock by a rich roster of experimental/classical musicians and artists. What is the music of Stones/Water/Time/Breath? The score to the music yielded is a prose score that defines a set of actions in which any number of performers use stones and water to make music at a body of water, outside. The performances on this recording show the variety and invention in interpretation, sparking the collection this recording documents.
